Looking for anything east of Queens, not too far past Smithtown. If I didn’t have to pay dealer labor rates, it’d still be worth gas in traveling far during LI traffic for a trust worthy efficient mechanic familiar with Cadillac models.
Have an ’07 DTS. AC not working. Took to a shop & they recommended I go to dealer. Dealer service is probably not going to like that I didn’t buy car from there but on basis a mechanic there told me they recognized VIN & that it was taken there monthly and in great condition by prior owner. Now, not so much. So afraid just because I didn’t keep it pristine, I’ll get less than dealer quality work for the insane labor rates. It’s not a wreck, but some rims are scratched, I never fixed a power steering leak that was there since I bought it 3 yrs ago. Most recently, this yr in a snow storm I drove over a snowy patch in parking lot I thought was cleared when I looked in mirror & ripped up my under carriage. Since nothing mechanically seemed to be a problem, I haven’t put money into fixing it, which is embarrassing, but what it is. So looking for a good shop that won’t judge me or my Caddy on what hasn’t been done to keep her in excellence & do best to fix current problem at a fair rate. I did invest into this car, new custom paint, tires, many other mechanical things done at dealer in past.
